Clenched Teeth:

A humble label stacked against the odds

Having run one of my own modest, small labels since 1983, I steadfastly remain behind my position that what I attempt to achieve is way less important than the artists or music I wish to promote via them. I see them as a stepping stone for those artists I like to simply clamber on to in an often vain hope something better might arise for them once there, or I arrogantly see them as serving a little weight and clarity to those artists I equally admire who do not actually need them...

No Wave Emissions from Budapest

én Op. 80530 CD (Peripheral Conserve, Hungary, 2013): You can be pretty much guaranteed a good listening experience if Zsolt Sőrés name is noted somewhere on the cover of a release, even if only, as in the case here, by virtue of a credit in the Thanks List. However, if that alone was not enough to entice one, then the very fact that Op. 80530 represents the latest work by Budapest’s én, or Pál Tóth as he is more formerly known, should really hit everything home.
